Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) on Friday, 15th , 2021 attended an inception meeting on a new upcoming project on Arid Ethno-Forestry (AEF) food systems. Dr. Koech from LARMAT and Dr. Kiemo Kiratu from school of Social sciences are the PIs from Kenya in the project.
Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) on 14th January, 2021, participated in end of project workshop on studying the use of Mezquite to improve welfare of communities in arid and semi-arid zones of the world. This was a multidisciplinary project with partners from UK, Mexico, Tanzania and Kenya.

On 16th December 2020, the Regional International Year for Rangelands and Pastoralists Support Group (RISG) was launched. This involves various stakeholders among them University of Nairobi (UoN).
