ENHANCING CLIMATE ACTIONS ON LAND IN AFRICA

At COP26 held on 31 October – 13 November 2021in Glasgow, Scotland, nations adopted the Glasgow Climate Pact, aiming to turn the 2020s into a decade of climate action and support. The package of decisions consists of a range of agreed items, including strengthened efforts to build resilience to climate change, to curb greenhouse gas emissions and to provide the necessary finance for both. 

LARMAT PART OF THE APP DEVELOPMENT TEAM FOR THE DOWN2EARTH PROJECT

Translation of climate information into multilevel decision support for social adaptation, policy development, and resilience to water scarcity in the Horn of Africa Drylands (DOWN2EARTH) Project seeks to address the multi-faceted challenges of water scarcity and food insecurity under climate change in Horn of Africa Drylands, by facilitating community-centered adaptation and resilience to climate change impacts. The project is funded by European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme.

KNOWLEDGE BROKERING LEARNING EXCHANGE WORKSHOP

Dr. Oliver Wasonga and Dr. Staline Kibet on 17th September 2020, attended Knowledge Brokering Workshop organized by Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) as a prelude to the postponed Adaptation Futures 2020, which was to be held earlier this year

FROM CRISIS TO ACTION: GLOBAL AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK

Dr. Oliver Wasonga participated in a Global Webinar on lessons learnt from Covid-19 for building a better future through Sustainable Livestock. Various stakeholders representing the globe attended the 2nd and 3rd September 2020 webinar.
