The NDMA has partnered with local universities for research into areas relating to drought risk management and climate change adaptation. The Authority gave research grants to six PhD students drawn from the University of Nairobi, among them Mr.
Dr. Judith Mbau, a lecture in this Department, on 5th August 2021. Participated in a meeting organized by the management of Taita Taveta County Wildlife Association (TTWCA). TTWCA manages Ranches and conservancies in Taita Taveta County.
The 27th International Sustainable Development Research Society virtual Conference will be held from 13 to 15 July 2021. Our researcher and a Senior lecturer in this Department Dr. Stephen Mureithi will share knowledge under the theme; Food security and Agriculture .

On 10th September 2020, A PhD student, Joyce Aguk in the department of LARMAT defended her research proposal to the Faculty of Agriculture Board of Examiners chaired by Prof. James Muthomi. She is undertaking PhD in Soil science under Supervision of Prof. Richard Onwonga and Prof. George Chemining’wa.
The Chairman, LARMAT, Prof. Geofrey Kironchi assisted by Ms Carolyne Kyalo today 11th August 2020 Successfully defended 2019-2020 performance contract (PC) of the department via Google zoom. This rates department performance that fall under four key pillars set by the University of Nairobi. These are; Financial Stewardship and Discipline, Service Delivery, University Core Mandate (projects “Big Four” Initiatives, Projects/Programmes aligned to SDGs, SPS and SP) and other crosscutting issues within growth of the varsity.
