FUTURE FOR WILDLIFE: UON AND TTWCA ESTABLISHES COLLABORATION

Dr. Judith Mbau, a lecture in this Department, on 5th August 2021. Participated in a meeting organized by the management of Taita Taveta County Wildlife Association (TTWCA). TTWCA manages Ranches and conservancies in Taita Taveta County.

This organization is one of the preferred conservation Centers by the students in this department undertaking Range management and is currently hosting students on industrial attachment from UoN.

The aim of the meeting was to establish linkages with TTWCA. A draft MoU between TTWCA and UON to be done on the following areas for future collaboration.

  • Students attachment – Range Management, Management of Agro-ecosystems and Environment, Veterinary sciences and clinical studies.
  • Research collaborations: Range management, Veterinary sciences, Mining/geology and Technology development 
  • Avenue for Short courses training on livelihood development

In attendance was the board of TTWCA and their projects manager and other staff.
