LARMAT SCIENTISTS RANK TOP 2 IN THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

LARMAT Scientists Rank Top 2 in the Faculty of Agriculture. These are Prof. Nancy Karanja and Prof. Charles Gachene positioned no. 22 and no.26 respectively at the University of Nairobi.This is according the recently released AD Scientific Index for top 3000 Scientists in Kenya where University of Nairobi is positioned no.9 in Africa and no 1 in Kenya.

STUDENTS-LECTURER CONSULTATIVE & MENTORSHIP MEETING

On Friday 28th October 2022, students in LARMAT interacted with their Lecturers .They physically meet their lecturers, aired out campus experience and lectures progress. Students were keen to know their career prospects. The session was convened by the Chairman, LARMAT Prof. Richard Onwonga in company of other LARMAT staff members. In the meeting, it was noted that, mentorship programs be intensified and more consultative meetings were encouraged.

MULTI-STAKEHOLDERS FORUM:BEEF PRODUCTION FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH IN AFRICA AMIDST CLIMATE CHANGE

The department of LARMAT hosted a successful webinar on ‘Beef Production for Economic Growth in Africa Amidst Climate Change Impacts Experiences and Opportunities from Kenya and Bostswana on 4th October 2022; 3.00 - 5.00pm EAT. The webinar was attended by over 240 participants with representations from Kenya, Botswana, Uganda and Somalia. The webinar was a multi-stakeholders forum to discuss a very important issue in food and nutrition security in Kenya.

BOTSWANA FELLOW SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES 1 MONTH SHORT TRAINING IN LARMAT

Prof. Moses Nyangito, The Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) hand over certificate of participation to Mr. Baleseng Leonard from Botswana, Ministry of Agriculture after successful completion of one month experiential training at the Department of LARMAT, in the faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi, sponsored by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
