The following post graduate is among graduands in this department were conferred with respective degrees in the 68th UoN Graduation Ceremony, which was held today on 16th December, 2022. The University of Nairobi Management lead by the VC, Prof. Stephen Kiama yesterday 20th, June, 2022, met Faculty of Agriculture and faculty of Vet Medicine to sensitize staff on UoN Foundation to be Launched on Thursday June 30, 2022. This is Initiative is for us all. He encouraged members of staff to register and disseminate the information to other UoN alma mater as well as stakeholders.

The NDMA has partnered with local universities for research into areas relating to drought risk management and climate change adaptation. The Authority gave research grants to six PhD students drawn from the University of Nairobi, among them Mr.
Chairman LARMAT, Prof. Richard Onwonga today 6th January, 2022 participated in the UoN Vetting and Negotiation of the Departmental Performance contract(PC) for the year 2021/2022. In the ceremony, he endorsed the PC for the department in presence of the UON Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, DVC Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o and Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Rose Nyikal.

On Friday 24th September, 2021, During the 65th UON graduation Ceremony, this Department, Faculty of Agriculture, graduated students in various Degrees offered both to post graduate and undergraduate. Some of these degrees were , BSC Management of Agro- ecosystems and Environment, BSc Range Management,MSC Range Management, MSC Soil Science, PhD in Dryland Resource Management , PhD Sustainable Soil Resource Management.

Out of 66 teaching Department, Department of Land Resources Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) was Ranked no. 7 in the year 2019-2020 University of Nairobi Performance Contract. The LARMAT scored 2.8874 a very good score with highest department scoring 2.6258. LARMAT scores pushed Faculty of Agriculture to Position Number 2 as best teaching Faculty at the Varsity.
The 10th University of Nairobi open day will be held on February from 18 to 19th, 2021. The Open day will be virtual, free and open to all. We have career guidance and mentorship sessions lined up for the attendees.
