LARMAT PARTICIPATES IN MAINSTREAMING CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE FRAMEWORKS AND TECHNOLOGIES IN RANGE MANAGEMENT AND PASTORALISM PRACTICES

Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) between 6th- 10th Dec, 2021 participated in the National Sensitization workshop on Mainstreaming Climate Smart Agriculture Frameworks and Technologies in the Practices of Range Management and Pastoralism in ASAL areas of Kenya organized by Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and cooperatives, State Department for Livestock.

WEBINAR : PARTICIPATORY RANGELANDS MANAGEMENT

Participatory Rangeland Management (PRM) has been adopted as an approach for improved Rangeland management and to better secure rights to resources in pastoralist areas, improving not only technical inputs, but also strengthen governance and tenure security of Rangelands. These has been piloted in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia since 2019. 

PANDEMICS/EPIDEMICS, DROUGHT AND AGRICULTURE: BUILDING BACK BETTER

Dr. Oliver Wasonga Senior Lecturer and Range Ecologist  from LARMAT on 10th July 2020, from 4pm to 5.30 East African times participated in the Global framework on water scarcity in agriculture (WASAG) seventh webinar that was organized by FAO and UNCCD Drought Initiative. He was one of the four speakers with 150 participants in attendance.
