and digital technologies (InfoRange) is funded by the German Ministry of Education and
Research (BMBF) and led by the German Institute for Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture (DITSL) in
Germany. InfoRange uses a co-learning and co-design approach for improving rangeland use and
governance in pastoral livestock production systems through digital and ICT applications and services
The following post graduate is among graduands in this department were conferred with respective degrees in the 68th UoN Graduation Ceremony, which was held today on 16th December, 2022. Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi from 28th November, 2022- 2nd December 2022 facilitated a learning platform on Integrated Soil- Crop Livestock- Production system for sustainability in Africa. The forum was Supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Organized by Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organizations (KALRO) and the University of Nairobi, Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT).
Dr.Oscar Koech from the Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT), UoN, Ms. Elizabeth Okwosa from Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organizations (KALRO) and Prof. Rogerio Martins Mauricio from Brazil facilitated an experiential field Learning Opportunity among African experts on Integrated Soil-Crop - Livestock-Tree Production system for sustainability in Africa.
The 5th of December 2022 was the World Soil Day! Researchers and experts from Africa (Tanzania, Rwanda, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Rwanda, Mauritius, Mauritania, Ghana, Morocco, Algeria, Congo Brazzaville, South Africa, Uganda, Coted'ivoire, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Zambia) held a meeting in Kenya to Learn and exchange knowledge on Sustainable soil management, Nutrient management and application of Nuclear Technologies in Land/soil Management for decision making.
The 68th UoN graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, 16th, December, 2022 at Taifa hall. The UoN Chancellor, Dr.(Mrs ) Vijoo Rattansi will confer various degrees and Diplomas in this Congregation. We congratulate all our graduands

The second phase of Tree planting ceremony at Upper Kabete Campus of University of Nairob(UoN organised by by the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, will be held on Wednesday November 16th, 2022 from 9am to 4pm. It will take place at the UoN field station ( next to the campus football pitch along Kapenguria road). The ceremony will be graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.
LARMAT Scientists Rank Top 2 in the Faculty of Agriculture. These are Prof. Nancy Karanja and Prof. Charles Gachene positioned no. 22 and no.26 respectively at the University of Nairobi.This is according the recently released AD Scientific Index for top 3000 Scientists in Kenya where University of Nairobi is positioned no.9 in Africa and no 1 in Kenya.
