2022 CALL FOR APPLICATION: INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL COURSE (IVC) ON “TACKLING CLIMATE CHANGE THROUGH GLOBAL LEARNING”

We are seeking to recruit participants for the International Virtual Course (IVC) on “Tackling Climate Change through Global Learning” that is scheduled to take place from 4th July to 28th July, 2022. This will be preceded with a few preparatory group activities between 2nd May and 1st July, 2022.

The IVC is led by Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Switzerland in collaboration with the Department of Land Resource Management & Agricultural Technology, University of Nairobi (UoN); the Universidade Federal de Grande Dourados (UFGD), Brazil; and University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore (UASB), India.

The course will be conducted online and bring together postgraduate students from Brazil, Switzerland, India and Kenya. It will be interactive in nature, involving lectures, group work, case studies and excursions (where possible). We therefore intend to recruit a group of students with multidisciplinary background from various departments and institutes of University of Nairobi to participate in the course. It is in view of this that I take pleasure in inviting interested students to apply for the course.

The application is open to on-going Masters and PhD students at the University of Nairobi, as well as those who have recently completed their programmes. The application should include a motivation letter (NOT EXCEEDING 200 words) elaborating your interest; why you think you are qualified for the course; as well as confirmation of your availability during 4th July to 28th July, 2022 (and occasionally (few days) between 2nd May and 1st July, 2022 for course preparations) should you be selected.

The outcome of the evaluation exercise will be communicated to you as soon as the process is finalized. The successful applicants shall be required to participate in course preparations led by the coordinators at UoN as early as 2nd May 2022.
