There is increasing deforestation in many part of the country due to increasing energy demands by communities. This has greatly affected critical rangeland ecosystems that provided habitat to diverse biodiversity of both livestock and wildlife.

DAAD Agriculture-Alumni Training Network is organizing a one-week workshop in Kenya. The theme for this year’s workshop is ‘Paradigm shifts in Agricultural Systems towards Sustainable Land-use in Africa’. This initiative will bring together German university alumni from East Africa for a 6-day travelling workshop in Kenya from the 28th March to 2nd April, 2022.

Community resource mapping is not a new approach for engaging the resource users in identification and characterization of natural resources for the purpose of informing management decisions. The product is a visually prepared mental map showing spatial and temporal distribution of resources and their status.
