The DEAN, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. George Chemining’wa and the Chairman, Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) Prof. Geoffrey Kironchi, officially opened a workshop on 20th January 2020 at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Conference Centre, Baringo County, Marigat Town. The workshop was supported by the joint interdisciplinary research project is entitled “Studying the Use of Mezquite to Improve Welfare of Communities in Arid and Semi-arid Zones of the World”, funded by GCRF, as part of an Interdisciplinary Research Project Award 2019 led by Dr. Gonzalez Carranza as Principal investigator from the University of Nottingham with partners from Kenya - Dr. Oscar Koech, Tanzania and Mexico. The dean congratulated the interdisciplinary research team for working together towards supporting action research as one of the agendas for the University. He noted that the workshop is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas between the researchers and the community who should work as a team to solve common problems in the region. He finally wished the team well for the three days workshop.
