Botswana Fellow at the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre (KAGRC)

Mr.Baleseng Leonard from the Ministry of Agriculture in Botswana had a learning session at theKenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre during his Fellowship at the University of Nairobi with his Mentor Dr. Oscar Koech from the department of LARMAT.  Breeding is a critical component of successful livestock rearing for food and nutrition security! Behind that simple AI service, there is a team of dedicated scientists serving the Region diligently! The team were privileged to learn more about the process at Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre that provides state of the art breeding services to Kenya and the Region. The one month Fellowship was sponsored by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The fellows were hosted by Dr. Oscar K. Koech, from the Department of LARMAT. We wish them well as they go and apply the skills and knowledge to build livestock sector in Botswana after the regional experience.
