Nyikal Adhiambo Rose
Rose Adhiambo Nyikal is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics, University of Nairobi. She obtained her PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nairobi in 2000, MSc in Agricultural Economics from the same University in 1990 and BSc in Agriculture in 1980. Her interest is in the area of Agricultural Production Economics, focusing on issues of Rural Finance and Smallholder Resource Use. Rose teaches Operations Research and Farm Management, among others. She has several publications and has supervised many PhD and MSc theses. She is currently the Acting Principal of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences. She has been consultant to African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD), Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), State Department of Agriculture and the Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS). She is the current Secretary-Treasurer of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE) (since 2011) and is also a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE). She is particularly interested in getting best practices for smallholders, the majority of mankind in the developing world.
