INAUGURAL SESSION OF THE CSA CAMPUS FORUM

Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network (CSAYN Kenya), and the University of Nairobi held an inaugural session of the CSA Campus Forum on Thursday, 20th February 2020 at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, University of Nairobi, 844 Building from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. 

These was organized Buoyed by insights that there exists massive gaps in the students primed to become the next generation of agricultural professionals. The event provided the students with a chance to network with renowned scientist on the opportunities in CSA in Kenya. The students were able to learn on the opportunities at their disposal, get an understanding of the requisite knowledge on current agricultural trends, policy changes, modern technologies and innovations that will provide them with opportunities in the sector.

The conference provided a platform for mentorship to students in agricultural profession, with multi disciplinary team of scientist, practitioners, entrepreneurs and human resource professionals in preparation for life after campus.

The forum was officially opened by Prof. Rose Nyikal, Principal-CAVS with a key note opening remarks by the DEAN, FoA. The event was organized by Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) and Mr. Victor Mugo, Country coordinator, CSAYN.
