OUR ALUMNI IMPARTING KNOWLEDGE; NATURE -BASED SOLUTIONS FOR CLIMATE CHANGE

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) invites you to a virtual forum on Nature based on climate change to be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 3pm to 5pm. Register here for Green House Session 2.0 on "Nature based Solutions (Nbs) for Climate Change” and if they are effective in addressing causes and consequences of climate change?

One of the speakers will be Chris Magero, a UoN alumnus  from LARMAT Department. Mr. Magero holds MSC and BSC in Range Management. He currently works with IUCN as Senior programme officer.

The discussions will entail;

1. Getting a common understanding of the definition of Nbs, especially the three core values that underpin the concept.
2. Understanding the enabling conditions for Nbs to thrive and unleash its potential.
3. Exploring some of the examples of Nbs for climate change in the region. Especially, on how they are contributing to livelihoods and community wellbeing.
