FIELD SAMPLING AND COLLECTION OF INVASIVE PROSOPIS JULIFLORA SEEDPODS IN BARINGO COUNTY

Dr. Oscar Koech, and Mr. Musembi Kimeu from 12th to 17th November 2019 conducted field sampling and collection of invasive Prosopis juliflora seedpods in Baringo County. This is in line with sustainable use and management of the tree species. This is under the project entitled Studying the Use of Mezquite to Improve Welfare of Communities in Arid and Semi-arid Zones of the World’.   A project funded by GCRF. The project represents collaboration between the University of Nottingham, UK, University of Nairobi, Kenya, Sokoine Agriculture University, Tanzania; and the following institutions in Mexico: UTSLRC, ITD, INIFAP, CIIDIR, CIAD, CONAFOR and COCYTED. An important aspect of this project is knowledge exchange between the participant countries.
