BOTSWANA FELLOW SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES 1 MONTH SHORT TRAINING IN LARMAT

Prof. Moses Nyangito, The Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) hand over certificate of participation to Mr. Baleseng Leonard from Botswana, Ministry of Agriculture after successful completion of one month experiential training at the Department of LARMAT, in the faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi, sponsored by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The fellow have undergone intensive training on Feed production, feed processing and conservation, feed quality analysis and sustainable feeding strategies. He has also undergone practical feed formulation and commercial feed processing from regional experienced experts. The fellow was hosted by Dr. Oscar K. Koech, from the Department of LARMAT. We wish him well as he goes and apply the skills and knowledge to build livestock sector in Botswana after the regional experience. This is part of international collaboration by the University of Nairobi in technology development and transfer of knowledge and regional capacity building. International Atomic Energy Agency has been working with UoN actively in areas of livestock production and nutrition, including support to regional capacity development collaborations and linkages. The collaboration contributes to scientific knowledge sharing from the ongoing research works, support to community outreach and practical training to the partners.
