STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT ON SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE STEWARDSHIP OF NATURAL RESOURCES

In Kenya, different actors and stakeholders play a key role in Natural Resources Management Conservation and protection. Among these actors are Government officers, Non-Government organizations (NGOS), County officers, Church based organization leaders, Community Forest Associations (CFA) and Mangrove user groups. These actors and ambassadors of Natural Resources Management were identified and engaged on their understanding on current status of forest, drivers to biodiversity loss, illegal logging, ICT integration and Smart Mobile Apps/ devices in monitoring Forest in Taita Taveta and Mangrove restoration in the coastal region of Kenya, preferably Taita Taveta, Lamu Counties. Carolyne Kyalo from this department conducted the social survey on local needs, identified potential partners on Sustainable, and Equitable Stewardship of Natural Resources. This took place in Taita Taveta and Lamu Counties.
