REGIONAL TRAINING ON PASTURES AND FODDER PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS, ADAMA, ETHIOPIA

Dr. Oscar Koech successfully facilitated a five-day  regional training of trainers for extension officers from Ethiopia, South Sudan and Uganda on Pastures and Fodder Production Technologies and innovations. The training provided in-depth understanding of regional challenges to pasture and pasture seeds production, capacity development of technical teams on available technologies for sustainable feed production, feed value addition and utilization, feed safety and quality management as well as strategies to address emerging threats to livestock production systems in the region’s Rangelands. The training was financially supported by the      Swedish International Development Agency ((Sida) under Sustainable Ecosystem Management (SEM) project for pastoralism in cross-border areas of the      IGAD region. Department of Land Resource Management & Agricultural Technology, UON University of Nairobi, IGAD Centre for Pastoral Areas and Livestock Development - ICPALD. Grassland and Rangeland Society of Kenya - GRASK are partners in this project.
