Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) on 14th January, 2021, participated in end of project workshop on studying the use of Mezquite to improve welfare of communities in arid and semi-arid zones of the world. This was a multidisciplinary project with partners from UK, Mexico, Tanzania and Kenya. The project supported the management and utilization of Prosopis juliflora in Kenya, Baringo County. The end of project meeting aimed to report research and impact activities generated during the GCRF project. This includes research on feed value for poultry, nutritive contents of the pods for feed and food, anti nutritive qualities as well as community and scientists knowledge exchange among participating countries. The information shared during the meeting is preliminary and formed the basis of new projects application to support the communities. The Co-Investigators who attend provided summary of findings.
