Dr. Oliver V. Wasonga and Ahmed Musa Interviewing Livestock Trader in Somaliland

Dr. Oliver V. Wasonga  on April 29-May 05, 2019 visited Somaliland to supervise Mr. Ahmed Musa, a PhD student registered in the Department of Land Resource Management & Agricultural Technology (LARMAT), University of Nairobi. Ahmed is funded under the “Governing Economic Hubs and Flows in Somali East Africa” (GOVSEA) project, and has been studying terminal markets in the Berbera corridor of Somaliland that supply livestock destined for export to the Arabian Gulf. Dr. Wasonga and Ahmed Musa undertook key informant interviews with actors at livestock markets in Hargeisa and Tog Wajaale, and the port of Berbera through which the livestock are exported to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Yemen.
