Dr. Oliver Wasonga Facilitating Training in the President’s Boardroom at University of Hargeisa

To advance the University of Nairobi’s policy on collaborative research and training, Dr. Oliver V. Wasonga from the Department of Land Resource Management & Agricultural Technology (LARMAT)  on 30th April , 2019, conducted a one-day training on basic research methods at the University of Hargeisa (UOH) in Somaliland. The objective of the training was to build capacity of the academic staff at UoH in research. A total of 15 participants were trained in research conception; design; planning; implementation and scientific writing. The exercise was organized by the University of Hargeisa management under the framework of “Governing Economic Hubs and Flows in Somali East Africa” (GOVSEA) project. GOVSEA is a collaborative research project t involving the Danish Institute for International Development (DIIS) and Roskilde University in Denmark; African Dryland Institute for Sustainability &LARMAT at the University of Nairobi; Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia; and University of Hargeisa in Somaliland.
