Philemon Ng’asike presenting hi PhD research findings

Dr. Oliver V. Wasonga, a Senior Lecturer and Philemon O. Ng’asike, a PhD student from the Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) University of Nairobi joined a team of researchers at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) for a seminar and annual meeting for the Governing Economic Hubs and Flows in Somali East Africa (GOVSEA) project workshop at Roskilde University in, Denmark. The workshop was held from 22nd to 26th April, 2019.

The theme of the seminar was doing business in fragile states’, while the workshop was focusing on research findings by doctaral students funded through the GOVSEA collaborative research project.

Philemon’s research work is on ”analysis of cross-border livestock trade between Kenya and Somalia” . Ahmed Musa, another PhD student supervised.

by Dr. Oliver Wasonga joined the through skype from Somaliland.

The workshop was held at Roskilde University under coordination of the Project Director Prof. Tobias Hagman, associate professor at the Department of Society and Globalisation at Roskilde University, and Prof. Finn Steputtat; Senior Researcher at DIIS. The next GOVSEA workshop is scheduled to take place in October 2019 at the Univeristy of Nairobi.
