Training underway

Dr. Oscar K. Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN) Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) conducted a 2 days community training on sustainable ways to manage Prosopis juliflora to reduce and avoid invasion. He trained communities in Oodwayne from 3rd and 4th April 2019. They were trained on Prosopis juliflora value addition of seed pods as animal feed for conservation and feed block for use during feed shortage or as feed supplement. The need for communities to do feed bulking is increasingly becoming important as an adaptation to climate change and variability impacts in the drylands.
