Miss Maliti Yusuf, a Master’s student in Range Management from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) participated in the stakeholder’s consultative forum for the National Rangelands and Pastoralism strategy in Isiolo County, Kenya. Miss Maliti was able to meet her mentors Dr. Oliver Wasonga and Dr. Oscar Koech from LARMAT, where she had the opportunity to discussed and consult on her research progress within Isiolo County. Her research work is entitled; “A Socio-Economic Analysis of Shifts in Livelihoods among the Pastoral Households in Peri-Urban Areas of Isiolo Town, Northern Kenya”. She was also able to meet many other stakeholders working in the rangelands of Kenya and actively participated in the stakeholder’s forum discussion

on the national rangelands and pastoralism strategy. This opportunity offers an early learning to graduates in area of policy formulations, and makes them better equipped to related and has their research work contribute to the national goals of ensuring sustainable rangeland management in Kenya and the region.
