Mr. Julius Karanja Mbatia, a 4th year student, BSC Management of Agro-ecosystem and Environment in this department represented Kenya Youth Climate Network  in a workshop on ”Sommer SNU; Enhance capacity in climate change politics, youth engagement and planning"  The meeting was held in Norway, Trondheim from  26th June to 1st July 2016.

In the meeting, Mr. Mbatia shared contribution toward International Change maker work and made presentation on Kenya’s youth engagement in COP 21 Climate Justice Campaign. This was through lessons learnt through his participation in the UNFCCC 21st conference of Parties session which was held in France, Paris from 30th November to 12th December 2015. The theme of the conference was "to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate with the aim of keeping global warming below 2 degrees Celsius".

Representatives from Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Regional Development Authorities (MENR)  were among other climate change activist from Kenya who participated. Over 10,000 delegates drawn from different parts of the world were intendance.
