The Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT), in conjunction with the African Drylands Institute for Sustainability (ADIS), organized a one-day regional curricula review workshop at KARLO Headquarters, Loresho on Thursday 6th September, 2018.

The goal of the workshop was to peer-review a proposed multidisciplinary Regional Masters Programme in "Petroleum Governance and Sustainable Development" (PELIBIGO), as required by the Inter-University Council for East Africa for regional programmes. The curriculum has been developed by the University of Dodoma in collaboration with Makerere University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The Programme development process is supported by NORAD under the Energy and Petroleum (EnPe) Programme https://www.norad.no/en/front/funding/enpe/.

The workshop was convened by Dr. Stephen Mureithi, the University of Nairobi’s PELIBIGO Peer-Review Coordinator.

The workshop was officially opened by the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture (FOA) Prof. George Chemining’wa assisted by Chairman, LARMAT, and Prof. Geoffrey Kironchi. In their remarks they acknowledged the relevance of the proposed curricular to current issues in the East African region.
