The Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) from July 30th  to Aug 3rd 2018 hosted a visiting Professor Tomascz Pyrcz of the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research in Jagiellonian University in Krakow under the auspices of the 2018-2019 EU-ERASMUS+ Interuniversity Exchange Programme. The programme aims at initiating North-South cooperation between institutions of higher learning. University of Nairobi is cooperation with Jagiellonian University through staff and student mobility started during the spring term 2016/2017.

Prof. Tomascz gave lectures and discussions on “Biodiversity assessments” to undergraduate 4th year students from three programmes: Range Management, Management of Agro-ecosystems and Environment, and Land and Water Option of the BSc Agriculture. The teaching programme comprised a series of 5 lectures of 2h of duration each. Prof. Tomascz is being hosted by Dr. Stephen Mureithi and Dr Judith Mbau who are the Co-coordinators responsible of the ERASMUS+ Mobility Programme for the University of Nairobi.

The students were very pleased with the Lectures given by Prof. Tomascz as indicated by the discussions and questions raised during the sessions.
