The Chairman, LARMAT Prof. Geofrey Kironchi, Chairman, Department of Agricultural Economics, Prof. John Mburu and Dr. Oscar Koech a lecturer in this department all member of Faculty of agriculture, College of Agriculture and Veterinary sciences (CAVS), attended a stakeholders meeting on 9th June 2018 to review curriculum at IGAD Sheikh Technical Veterinary School (ISTVS) in Somaliland. The meeting aimed at bringing together all the stakeholders to discuss the implementation of a curriculum on Dryland Economics and Agro-ecosystem Management (DEAM) being offered by The University of Nairobi in Collaboration with ISTVS. The programme has gone one cycle of implementation and the first graduands are expected to graduate in September 2018.

The meeting discussed on ways to review the program course content to meet the expectations of the market demand, address the local issues in Somaliland and the region, while giving the students the practical experience to make them employable and contribute to the development of the country.
